Study Abroad Team launches exciting World’s Challenge competition

This academic year the Study Abroad Team is launching a brand new opportunity for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The University is taking part in the World’s Challenge Challenge (WCC) – an initiative of one of our exchange partners, Western University in Canada.

WCC is a hugely exciting competition whereby teams of students from universities all over the world present their ideas for solutions to global problems. The finals of the competition are hosted at Western University and first prize is $30,000 for the winning team to invest in implementing their proposed solution.

Applications are now open for students to submit their proposals. Teams should be made up of three students, be multi-disciplinary and have at least one team member who is an undergraduate student. Once the teams have submitted their proposals the Study Abroad Team will be holding semi-finals in order to decide on our winning team who will represent UoL at the WCC finals. The winners of the Liverpool final will win a £5,000 investment in their solution from the Santander Enterprise Fund, as well as free flights to London, Canada to compete at the global finals.

An information and networking session for students to find out more and meet potential team members will be held on 13th November, 5pm-7pm in the Management School Atrium. Students should sign-up for this event via Career Hub.

More information about the programme can be found on the Study Abroad website: www.liverpool.ac.uk/study-abroad/outbound/world-challenge/.
