Reminder: Safety measures on campus

Guild walk signage - stay safe

We’ve worked hard to ensure our campus is COVID-secure, and our campus safety measures are being regularly reviewed in light of the latest guidance. We are confident that the measures in place will serve to protect staff and students will serve to protect our students and staff who have already returned, or will be returning, over the next few weeks and months.

Things might look a little different, but all the measures are for your safety and that of our University community. We all have a responsibility to make everybody on campus feel safe and welcome.

You can view these details anytime on our dedicated campus safety hub.

Returning to campus

Each and every one of us has a responsibility to keep each other safe whilst we are on campus, in our local communities and in the city.

For those who will be returning to campus, you are encouraged to take a COVID test at least one day before travelling back to your term-time accommodation.

On arrival back on campus, and for those who are already in Liverpool, you should take a lateral flow test twice a week, making use of our on-site testing centres. All three of our testing sites – the Sports Centre, Greenbank and Leahurst offer a walk-in service with no appointment necessary.

We will continue to require staff and students to book a test if they have Covid symptoms.

Although restrictions are easing, when you are on campus you’ll need to follow all one-way systems and social distance markers. They’re there to help us get around safely.

If attending classes in person, make sure you arrive on time. Sanitise your hands before entering a new room and remember to wait 2 metres apart from anyone you don’t live with. It’s important to leave promptly and avoid gathering in a large group afterwards.

Face coverings

You should wear a face covering inside campus buildings, including during teaching sessions, as well as outdoors on campus wherever maintaining a 2-metre distance may not be possible.  If you cannot wear a face covering, we encourage you to wear a sunflower lanyard so that others are aware you are exempt. You can find more details about this here.

Evergreen Life App

Please download our dedicated version of the Evergreen Life App. It’s important you download the app using our specific link or QR code found on the posters and flyers around campus.

Please do not search for the app directly in the app stores as that will prompt you to install the public version of the app instead of the bespoke University of Liverpool version. Once you have downloaded the app you will need to register.

Simply enter your name, university email and a chosen password, before continuing through the slides where you will be asked to enter your student ID (this is the number on your student card). Once you have completed the app registration process you will see the University of Liverpool content within the app.

If you choose to give permission, we can use symptom data to spot any potential infection clusters on campus so we can quickly respond to stop the spread and keep everybody safe. Data will not be used to personally identify you, it will not be shared outside of the University, and you will not be contacted regarding any data you submit via the app. You can read our full privacy statement here.
