Graduation checklist: Where to go and when

Graduation University of Liverpool

We know there’s a lot to remember, so we’ve put together this short graduation checklist to help you plan your day. #LivUniGrad

Don’t forget to join your Graduation Whatsapp Community to receive helpful updates and tips about your ceremony. Read the Privacy Notice here.

First stop: The Guild

Venue: The Guild

Activity: Two to three hours before your ceremony begins, pick up your tickets, brochure, certificate and gown at the Liverpool Guild of Students.

Gown collection opens: 7am

Gown drop-off: 6.30pm

Access: Make sure you enter the Guild via the Mount Pleasant entrance (where Starbucks is based – although, as we’re expecting so many grads and guests on campus during the week, we’d really appreciate it if you use the Guild doorway to enter the building and not the Starbucks entrance. Thanks 😊).

**********

While you’re getting your gown, your guests can relax in Guild Walk or inside the courtyard area of the Guild.

Second stop: Photography

Venue: Sports Centre

Open: 9am – 6pm

Activity: If you have booked photography through Ede & Ravenscroft make your way to the Sports Centre. If the queue is too long, pop back later but check with the Sales Desk for closing times.

Some of our buildings, like the beautiful Victoria Gallery and Museum, are having some work done. We’ve created a green screen opportunity so that you can take a photo with a virtual VG&M. We know it’s not perfect, but hopefully you can get some good shots to remember your special day.

You can collect a free print of any graduation photo you post to Twitter or Instagram using #LivuniGrad. Just make sure your profile is set to public. Collect your free print from the Alumni team in the Guild.

Third stop: Philharmonic Hall

Venue: Philharmonic Hall for the Class of 2023. If your ceremony is taking place on Friday, 14 July, your ceremony is taking place in the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre.

Opens: Make sure you’re in your seat at least 45 minutes before your ceremony begins. Your ceremony will last for around 90 minutes.

****************

Remember, you can stream all ceremonies on our website or on YouTube. Guests can also watch live ceremonies in the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre, Lecture Theatre 1. Guests do not need a ticket to watch the streamed ceremonies on campus.

Fourth stop: Abercromby Square

Venue: Abercromby Square

Activity: You can head to the gardens or back to campus to celebrate. Lots of departments and schools are hosting a celebration in the marquee in Abercromby Square.

You can also celebrate down Guild Walk, at the Victoria Gallery and Museum and inside the Guild at The Sphinx.

Final Stop: Guild of Students

Venue: The Guild

Activity: Drop off your gown by 6.30pm. Pick up your free SquareShare prints at the Alumni stand inside the Guild.
