
Our Student Services team is dedicated to supporting you throughout your time at university.
You can find them in the Student Life Building on University Square. Made up of several teams, they can help no matter what comes your way.
You can reach them by calling them on 0151 795 1000 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday or visit the Student Services website for information on how to book appointments.
They can support you with:

Support outside of university hours
If you are struggling and need to talk to someone of an evening or weekend, there is always support available:
- Health Assured advice: Health Assured offer students a free, confidential advice line, with help available to talk through any problem, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can call the 24/7 helpline for free on 0800 028 3766.

You can also access help from other services within our university community:
- Academic support: The KnowHow team provide online academic support to help you to succeed in your studies. The English Language Centre (ELC) also provides academic skills and language support online and on campus for both home and international students.
- Schools and departments: You may find it helpful to talk to your school or your department.
- The Guild: The Guild offer free and confidential advice and are independent from the University.
- Self-help hub: Our self-help hub has resources for a number of different topics including anxiety, depression, stress, imposter syndrome and sleep. The range of resources are designed to give you some ideas on what you can do to stop problems from escalating.
In a crisis now? Immediate mental health support
In an emergency, or if you don’t feel that you can keep yourself safe, go to accident and emergency (A&E), or call 999 for an ambulance. Or you can contact your local NHS mental health crisis line. If you have thoughts about harming yourself or ending your life but do not feel you are at immediate risk, Student Services offers a range of support that includes wellbeing advisors, counsellors, and the mental health advisory Service.
