The University’s biannual Travel Survey is now live, and we want to hear from you.
The survey asks about how you travel to and from the University, how often you travel, and which modes of transport you use. You can also share your views on current travel options.

Why your views matter
Your responses directly inform how the University plans for travel and transport. The results will help shape the new University Travel Plan, which is currently in development and due to be published later this academic year. The Students’ Union has been involved in shaping this plan, helping to ensure student priorities are reflected.
We know that public transport routes, reliability, and affordability are key concerns for many students. The Travel Plan sets out how the University will:
- Improve what we can on campus to support walking, cycling, and public transport use
- Support more affordable and sustainable travel choices for students
- Work with partners across Liverpool and the wider City Region to influence longer‑term improvements to the transport system that students rely on every day
Your survey responses help us build the evidence needed to make the case for change — both within the University and with external partners.
Supporting climate action and wellbeing
The survey also plays an important role in supporting the University’s climate commitments. The data collected is used to understand travel‑related carbon emissions (often referred to as Scope 3 emissions), which are linked to activities like commuting and business travel. This evidence is essential to tracking progress towards the University’s net zero ambitions under Liverpool 2031.
Alongside reducing our environmental impact, better travel options can also support student health, wellbeing, and accessibility, by encouraging active travel and improving public transport connections.
