Disability Advice and Guidance is part of the University’s Student Services Team.
The Team is available to help with a variety of differing needs by identifying and recommending appropriate support provisions for disabled students, as well as those who think they may have a disability.
Based in the Alsop Building in University Square, our Disability Advisors and Disability Support Officers work together and with other university departments to ensure students have the right support in place for their individual needs and circumstances.
There are lots of different types of support including:
- Programme-centred support
- Exam support
- Help with library services
- Campus accessibility
- Specialist equipment or assistive technology
- Support from specialist mentors or scribes
- Access to disability-related funding and assessments
Disability Coaches
Our team of Disability Coaches are available in the Alsop Building from 11am – 3pm Monday – Friday, and also from 12-2pm weekdays via MS Teams for remote access.
The coaches are the first point of contact for all disability-related enquiries and they can help with initial support enquiries, information about support plans, details about available services, information about obtaining medical evidence, as well as Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) applications and queries.
All of our coaches have lived experience of accessing disability support and will be able to assist you to make the most of the support on offer, so you can thrive at the University of Liverpool.
Departmental Disability Contacts
Departmental Disability Contacts are located within your department and are your local point of contact for all disability-related matters. They also ensure your support recommendations are implemented.
You can find out how to contact your Departmental Disability Contact on our webpages.
